Simple syrup is one of those staples that you incorporate into other recipes, here is my simple non-stovetop method for creating it.

  • Prep Time:  3 Minutes
  • Ready In:  Immediately
  • Yields 4 cups

  • 2 cups of White Sugar
  • 3 cups of freshly boiled water

  1. Measure sugar into a measuring cup that is capable of holding at least 4 cups
  2. Add piping hot boiled water from kettle up to the 4 cup mark
  3. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved the liquid should be as clear as plain water.

Simple syrup is perfect for sweetening recipes in a manner that does not require further stirring to dissolve the sugar crystals.
