This months app is not so much one that actually does editing or takes images on your cell phone but rather one that exposes you to fantastic images on your smartphone and then gives you the techniques behind capturing and processing said images.  The Guardian Eyewitness App is available for both Android and iOS and is the creation of The Guardian Newspaper from the UK.

The app brings you newsworthy/creative photography from around the world and then a simple tap on the screen of your device reveals photographic tips.

Here is a birds-eye view of Barack Obama’s second inauguration, while many of us will not be in a situation of this nature the principles can still be applied to our own experiences.

This photograph shows the new trend of shooting on your SLR and then editing on the ever capable mobile platforms.  While mobile apps such as Snapseed, Pixlr and Instagram are unable to do many advanced techniques such as layers in Photoshop they are surprisingly capable.

The Guardian Eyewitness app introduces us to many situations that we may not yet have experienced, fortunately the pro tips provide us with a means to achieve a greater level of success when we are in such situations.  From the app you can save photographs as favorites, share the link to the image with friends, set an image as your wallpaper,  run the current series of images as a slideshow among other options The app is free and available for Android and iOS.

Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think of the app.
