Hello Readers:

In the past couple months FYP has had some scheduling adjustments due to that thing we call life.  Like many of you, our writers have full time jobs or are in school and sometimes their demanding schedules and family lives mean unavoidable absences.

In recent times, some of our team members have had departures from their families and we extend our condolences to them.  On the other hand one of our team members has welcomed a new addition to their family, congratulations, you know who you are.

Also, we have a new addition to the fantastic team here at FYP, Kristin Brown has joined our team of great writers and has come out blazing with her first article: How to Take Compelling Self-Portraits, if you haven’t read it yet do yourself a favor,  read it and then put some of her techniques to work on taking that brand spanking new auto-portrait.  We are pleased to have Kristin aboard!

Long time writer and producer of the Weekend Photo Focus/Find columns Ameena Rojee has also moved up the ladder, Ameena is now our new Editorial Assistant.  Congratulations to Ameena, with her help FYP will be bringing an even greater range of articles for your reading pleasure.  Ameena’s UK base will bring a European perspective of the photography world.

Our FYP Photography Contest also took a brief hiatus but will be restarting on December 1st with some exciting assignments.  The Contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers worldwide and the theme is released on the 1st of every month at midnight.  Interested parties have until midnight on the 21st of the same month to submit their entries to win a featured column in our Indie Spotlight series in addition to other great prizes.

Our stable of writers has mastered new techniques and will be sharing primers with you in upcoming articles, however, if you are a Lightroom user you will certainly want to review Hugh’s Lightroom series and make sure you are up to scratch on all these techniques he has shared with us.
