Each Monday, we’ll highlight one indie photographer whose body of work deserves special recognition. Please enjoy their photography here, and make it a point to enjoy the rest of their work on their website.
This week the Indie Spotlight shines on Jorge Luis Delgado of Miami, Florida. Jorge Luis’s body of work is generally focused on models. From high fashion and editorial shots to fitness, he is inspired to creatively capture beauty in every way possible.
Kit:
Jorge Luis’s almost always works with his very first camera while shooting his subjects, the Canon EOS Rebel t3. He says this model produces great quality photos as well as video.
Workflow:
Working mostly outdoors, Jorge Luis finds much of what drives his creative process there. For his post processing efforts, Jorge Luis turns to Corel Paint Shop Pro.
Tips, Tricks and Techniques:
Jorge Luis says the best tip he can share is simply that you have to love what you do, always. He says that if photography is your passion, never stop dreaming. Chase your dreams until all of them come true. Jorge Luis says “Nothing is impossible. I put my mind to it, I get it done.  That is the attitude.”
Lessons Learned:
Jorge Luis learned to use his editing program without instruction or tutorials. In using this he finds that his work has improved 100%, taking his photos to a whole new level. Also, with working outdoors, choice of location and time of day are huge factors in getting the lighting or shadows just right.
Inspiration:
One photographer Jorge Luis draws inspiration from is Mark Delong.  He loves the way his pictures tell a story and finds his work exquisite and classy.
Another inspiration for Jorge Luis is David LaChapelle. Admiring David’s creativity and his working with so many celebreties, Jorge Luis counts him as a big inspiration.
What’s Next:
Jorge Luis would love to work with Victoria’s Secret models or shoot for a popular fashion magazine. Also, he would like to get more into the world of nude art/photography, especially working with male models. He says he loves the male body and structure.
